Founded in 2023 and based in Portland, Oregon, Tercette works in one material: 100% yak wool.
We make small seasonal runs of knitwear shaped by honest material, familiar form, and the quiet usefulness of pieces worn often.
Yak wool begins with the season. Gathered by hand each spring, then shaped into pieces made to move through daily life.
Sourced through gentle hand-combing, yak fiber is collected as the animals naturally shed their winter coat. The process is non-invasive and supports herding communities across the Tibetan Plateau.
The fiber is exceptionally soft, breathable, and warm without weight. Its natural depth gives each knit a sense of richness while allowing it to remain easy to wear, layer, and return to across seasons.
For Studio Tercette, yak is not an alternative material. It is the foundation of the collection.
Founded by Alice Wang and Jenny Nieh, Tercette takes its name from tercet, a poetic form built in threes. That structure reflects the relationships at the center of the studio: material, form, and use; the piece, the wearer, and the life around it.
The collection is shaped for women who care deeply about what they live in. It begins with the feel of the fiber and extends to the way a piece moves, settles into daily life, and continues to earn its place over time.
The work is in the balance and restraint. Nothing is added for novelty. Each piece is designed to support your daily life.

Tercette pieces are produced in small seasonal editions, with each collection shaped by the yak wool available that season, the colors and proportions we are drawn to, and the group of pieces we want to bring forward together.
Some forms may return through a different yarn, weight, color, or proportion. A returning piece is not simply repeated. It is considered again in relation to the material and the season around it.
Over time, the collections form an evolving wardrobe: distinct to the moment they were made for, but connected through the pieces, ideas, and silhouettes that continue to develop.
The archive holds that progression, tracing past seasons and the pieces that have moved from the studio into daily life.
